16 King Stephen & Peter Straub Black House
USA Random House 2001 First Edition Hard Cover As New As New Signed by Author
This is the ultimate SIGNED set of Stephen King & Peter Straub's masterpiece Black House. Combining again for a continuation of the Talisman. This was sent to me by the Stephen King organization. Several years ago (before he meeting with the van) they had a deal on their website offering anyone who mailed their mailing address into the Stephen King business address, it would be put on the list for an Autographed book. The list must have been long; I was on this list for years. The list option went away after his accident - but one day this book showed up at my office with Stephen King's original signature ! It is NOT personalized to me - it speaks to "Dear Constant Reader" and goes on to say that since his retirement or reduced workload, he will no longer continue this service. THIS LETTER IS ALSO INCLUDED. He says that he is including his signature along with a 1st edition of the Black House. This is one of the last signatures available through direct correspondence and of course since his acident King has sramatically reduced the number of signings and tours he undertakes. Offered here as "brand new" and unread collection. This will make an ideal gift for the collector of rare Stephen King books.

18 King Stephen as Richard Bachman Blaze
USA Scribner 2007 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Fine Signed by Author
SIGNED boxed set of the true USA first edition hardback of Blaze by Stephen King as Richard Bachman. Signed directly to the main title page by hand from Stephen King. Superb unclipped dustwrapper. In brand new condition. Presented in a custom made, embossed and tooled black and foil slipcase. A truly awesome collectors piece of a verty seldom signed title. Please enquire for further images. Written circa 1973, this trunk novel, as Bachman's double (aka Stephen King) refers to it in his self-deprecating foreword, lacks the drama and intensity of Carrie and the horror opuses that followed it. Still, this fifth Bachman book (after 1996's The Regulators) shows King fine-tuning his skill at making memorable characters out of simple salt-of-the-earth types. Clayton Blaze Blaisdell has fallen into a life of delinquency ever since his father's brutal abuse rendered him feebleminded. King alternates chapters recounting Blaze's past mistreatment at a series of Maine orphanages and foster homes with Blaze's current plans to follow through on a kidnapping scheme plotted by his recently murdered partner in crime, George Rackley. Blaze talks to George as though he's still there, and the conversations give the tale tension, with Blaze coming across as a pitiable and surprisingly sympathetic contrast to prickly George. Despite its predictability, this diverting soft-boiled crime novel reflects influences ranging from John Steinbeck to James M. Cain. Also included is a previously uncollected story, Memory, the seed of King's forthcoming 2008 novel Duma Key.
