Milne A A Now We Are Six UK London Methuen 1927 Limited Full-Leather As New As New Privately Printed 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall E H Shepard Signed by Author A very scarce SIGNED A A Milne book and original presentation copy to Anne Darlington. SIGNED by both AA Milne (to the main title page) and by Anne Darlington (to the dedication page) where the book is officially dedicated to her by Milne: "To Anne Darlington now she is seven and because she is so speshal". Growing up, Christopher Robin had only three close friends. The first was his nanny. The second was a girl he had met that lived near Cotchford named Hannah. The third was Anne Darlington, who lived in London and was his closest friend for many years. Anne Darlington lived half a mile away in a flat in Beaufort Mansions. She was eight months older than Christopher and like him, without brothers or sisters. "So instead we had each other and we were as close and inseparable as it is possible for two children to be who live half a mile apart. It was a closeness that extended to my parents, for Anne was and remained to her death the Rosemary that I wasn't". (The Enchanted Places). Presented here in the finest style binding you will ever see and unique for this book. It is handbound in full burgundy goatskin with all edgepapers in 24kt gold gilt.
